Rockfall Netting is placed on geohazard slopes and vertical rock faces, holding-back passively, or actively, threats from falling boulders and rocks. They are open-mesh structures, allowing free drainage and vegetation establishment. Our rockfall netting can cover the whole rock surface under threat or just portions of it. The geohazard is reduced economically and for long periods of time.
Rockfall netting developed by Nova fulfils several functions to make rockfaces safe by controlling erosion:
1. Draping and anchoring: ensures the stability of small unstable rock masses, in conjunction with an anchor system;
2. Containment: prevents gradual degradation of slopes resulting from successive failures, by means of a stabilizing action equivalent to application of pressure on the slope;
3. Channelling of rockfalls: nets anchored at the top of the slope, and generally ballasted at the bottom, act as a brake if rock breaks out.
High strength. Short installation period Less weight, easy to transport Good ventilation Excellent corrosion resistance Easy maintenance
Applications:
Rockfall Net method stabilizes unstable slope surface using the combination of rock bolts and wire ropes. By tightening wire ropes, it is possible to hold back the loosened slope ground so that small scale surface sliding will be prevented.
